I want that the colour has a home. I am not interested about a colour without matter. In the landscape, colour stays distant. I fasten that to concrete materials, so that for example a distant dawn seems to be breakfast youghurt. What is far away, is at the same time someting very near, and longing ceases. What is seen is a thin shadow of the reality, and the secret stays hidden and safe.
A material creates a specific emotional memory. It is like a smell, which opens memories from the very beginning. By mixing, I create different kind of materials, which speak to me;
initial slime, milk, blueberry jelly, slush…
By painting, I support a sufficient space in myself. Without the sufficient space and emptyness, everyday life seems to be without meanings. On the otherhand, emptyness is also frightening.
Into paintings, I have started to install small three-dimensional figures, which are more living. This gives more tension between the distant horizont and the immediate nearness.
