Animation Crank Handle
Amusement Park
Galleria Huuto Jätkäsaari 1 & Video room
4-19 October 2014
In October, Galleria Huuto will turn into an animation amusement park.
Animation Crank Handle’s collective exhibition encourages the visitors to interact with the works and the animations reach beyond the screen. Tatu Pohjavirta’s Bystander changes with the visitors, while Elli Vuorinen’s Memory trace, which looks like a fakir’s bed, allows the visitors to leave their own trace on the constantly changing installation. The amusement park visitors can also spin around in the Garbage Whirl, meet the Fortune-teller and learn about the story of a planet.
The Amusement Park is the second collective exhibition by Animation Crank Handle. The exhibition includes nine works by nine different artists or artist groups. The previous exhibition, Anxiety/Relief, was displayed in Berlin, Tokyo, Kerava and Tampere.
