An Almost Empty Horizon
Galleria Huuto Jätkäsaari 1
29.3.–14.4.2013
(Gallery Huuto Jätkäsaari has normal opening hours during Easter holidays!)
I compile the fragments of my works by taking pictures with my camera and collecting different items. I wander around observing spaces and situations from the inside and outside. My head is filled with passages from scripts, drafts of arrangements, abstract patterns, metaphors and puns. I integrate the pieces into a rhythm that flows everywhere.
I live in an atmosphere, in a comprehensive story that doesn’t, however, appear as a novel or film. I look for essential pieces of information hiding between pictures and language, a perspective that is hidden behind a simple video clip or a perspective that may require several parallel themes before it is revealed.
I use items I have found, recycled materials, trash and waste together with digital video. I build spaces and play with the alternation between large and small. My themes deal with different interfaces in society without finger-pointing or moralizing. My works try to find their place as visual poems or physical essays.
