Feeling air move on my skin reminds me that I am a part of the world. The same air surrounds and touches us all. This thought is simultaneously comforting and scary. The presence of air conditioning changes everything.
My aim is to construct works that are presented in a stripped down and simple manner. I try to get rid of all that is extraneous. The subject matter can be a seaside wind on your face or an angular building in the middle of a deserted area. Occasionally, I feel the need to strain against my self-imposed economy of expression, but even then the visual fireworks are carefully controlled.
This exhibition consists of simple drawings depicting simple objects and spaces, as well as reliefs and an installation where a current of air moves audio tapes and curtains that are attached to a wall.
