For me, drawing is like breathing. It is a means of self-expression, and trying to understand the world and humaneness. I’m interested in nature and its peaceful simplicity, and how much these things resemble us human beings.
By studying, following, and wondering what’s going on in nature, the moments spent there become observations, experiences, and feelings. These, in turn, become thoughts, and the words form pictures.
My exhibition, “Jälkiä” (“Traces”) consists of lithographs, birds, and lines; how birds exist in nature; their beauty, delicacy, and fascinating life; and how humaneness can be seen and experienced in them.
The exhibition has been kindly supported by the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
