My paintings are like scenes from unfinished stories that I have seen flash by out of the corner of my eye. You will not see any humans in them because animals and plants have taken over the world. In addition to the toxic agaric mushrooms, the leading role in my paintings is played by wild ponies and cute, yet somehow reflective and melancholic rabbits. In one of my favorite paintings, a Shetland pony is walking in a meadow, wearing a mushroom hat – perhaps the pony thinks it is the latest fashion from Paris. No one knows where it’s going, perhaps to a party. All stories have an ending, whether happy or sad. Perhaps the pony is on its way to a carnival to celebrate the end of time or perhaps it is going to show the new that to its friends. What are your thoughts?
