Katri Kuparinen
Dispersion
5–28 January 2024
My works are combinations of collage and paper cutting. As my source material, I have used older woodcut-based illustrations as well as news and advertising images from recent year’s paper versions of Time and Der Spiegel. Roughly speaking, my works combine new and old, facts and fiction in different ways. This is how I create some kind of visual stories about our time.
Katri Kuparinen graduated from the Lahti Institute of Fine Arts in 1998. Dispersion is her 12th solo exhibition. Her works are included in the collections of Kiasma, Helsinki Art Museum HAM and the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation.
