Love
28.9.-21.10.2018
It’s the best feeling when you wake up after a good night’s sleep, open the curtains and the window and hear a lovely bird singing. It sounds as fresh as it did on the first summer day when the world came into existence. This sound fills me with love and thus I embrace the world through my window with my own little song: tweeeet tweeet tweeeeeee-eeee-eeee-eeeeee-eeeeee-eeeeeeet, tweeeeet tweeeeeeee-eeet. Singing is refreshing for my brain and often I feel so wonderful that I just have to laugh: haaa ha ha haaa, haaaaaaa-aaaaaaa-aa haa haaaah ahaa ha.
Once I have laughed enough and calmed down, I yell: “Thanks little bird, you’re the best!”
In three years, I will be fifty and my life has always been very good. Nothing bad has ever happened to me, nothing awful that I would have had to think about. My fathers and mothers have been wonderful people and my ex-girlfriends have been real gems and I think that the world is perfect, ball-shaped and complete. I don’t have a black hole in my chest that would suck my mind into a bottomless pit in a way that would give me something to say as an artist.
All I have is this love.
Ihana Havo is a Lahti-based artist who likes to squeeze clay and use a mold to create something colorful. Once again, the artist will bring to Galleria Huuto a wonderful atmosphere as well as animal sculptures full of color, women in suitcases and a small piece of summer – an Egyptian summer. The name of the exhibition is Love and it will be nice to try and find it in the works – and perhaps even question it.
“Love” is a ter-ces, shh…
