“I really should do some cleaning.
I should throw out all this junk and these letters, but I just keep collecting more and spread them all over the place.
Since when have I had this worry line between my eyebrows?
Did I remember to stop playing the record in my head?
Time just passes by and I cannot catch it.
My youth is gone.”
I am fascinated by the anxiety experienced between childhood and adulthood. Recently, my themes have included regression, anxiety and identity crisis with a humorous approach. I lick the wounds of adolescence by drawing fan pictures and make cuckoo clocks to illustrate the fear of time running away. I fluff up my memories to finally pack them and put them in storage.
I create crafts, drawings, paintings and sculptures. I use porcelain items as my sculpting material and I alter them by breaking them. Sometimes I keep them intact and use them as part of new combinations. My exhibition at Galleria Huuto includes postcards, a makeup mirror, a wall clock, a milking stool and a pelt.
