“SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE RISK OF GETTING LOST IN ORDER TO FIND
SOMETHING”
Painter Jussi Karhunkorva got lost in the world of inkdrawings a few years ago. Discoveries from the voyage are shown at Galleria Huuto 4.-15.1.2006.
Black and white pictures tell stories. Human and animal figures in the
pictures are in dialogue with each other – as if in search for the
alchemists stone of wisdom through conversation.
You can continue an oilpainting eternally, but inkdrawing must succeed at once – otherwise it can be thrown in the thrash can. It is an automationprocess; reaction, where I don´t see the work while making it. The work is born spontaneously.
Free working with intuition and instinct.
Karhunkorva himself also finds out what he has done first afterwards.
While drawing he moves closer to the birth moment of the work. He seeks order in the chaos.
Art is force of nature, that erupts out of artist like a volcano.
Sometimes it is like a dream you almost remember, but then loose again.
