Shapes, signs and colors enter the visual field, with a rhythm created by the composition. As a result, a chain reaction of emotions and interpretations is set off. The emerging mental images merge into the experienced and the unexperienced.

In the viewer’s mind, the work forms an iteration, a repetition. An allegory, in order to be completed in the viewer’s mind, art synthesis requires an experiencer.

In my work, I follow seven hermetic principles both compositionally and thematically. These principles add a transcendent aspect to the paintings, which may manifest itself as the realization of the potential or imaginary. As an individual stretches oneself into plurality, they can easily blend into the collective and lose their way. The flexible mind that sees this brings strength.

Sakari Vinko (b. 1994, Porvoo) is a Helsinki-based painter. He critically explores humanity and its experience of reality using visual allegories. The themes seen in his works are overshadowed by various contrasts and paradoxes. Where does the self end and the other begin? How do we deal with the self through otherness? Vinko approaches these questions through the Jungian shadow and archetypes. He graduated with a master’s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki in December 2023. In the summer of 2023, he participated in the young artists’ exhibition at Art Center Salmela, where the jury awarded him first place in the young artists’ competition. In 2024, Vinko participated in the annual summer exhibitions of Art Pappila and Haihatus.
